I’ve come to realize that I don’t like asking for help. I don’t like asking for things in general.
I’m independent like that.
So this Kickstarter Fundraiser has been a huge thing for me.
I guess I should give a little background for you.
If you’ve followed my blog for a while, you’ll know that 3 of my best friends took a 3 month journey across the country, calling it “Further Along The Road“. When they traveled, they took an iPhone 4S and a GoPro and filmed their journey. Well, then they came back, and we began watching clips. It’s taken a long time, but we’ve finally finished watching clips. And then we ran into a problem.
We ran out of hard drive space.
And we have no backup.
And we don’t have good mics.
Ok, it was more that one problem. And none of them have solutions I can do myself. I don’t have the equipment to make it work. I don’t have much in the way of money. So I was going to have to ask for help.
I saw this problem coming down the road as we were watching clips initially, but I was so scared and hate asking for help so much that I kept putting it off until it was literally show stopping for us. We can’t do anything else until we have the equipment.
So, I decided to punch fear in the face, talked to the guys, and we decided to launch a Kickstarter fundraiser. Why? Because it allows people we don’t see in person often to get behind it. And those who support us can get some great stuff for it. Like a digital download, DVD, Blu-Ray, interviews, songs written about whatever topic they want, art drawn for them, appearance in the credits, etc.
So, now I have to do what I hate and ask for help. Your help. We can’t do this without you. We have 14 days left in our fundraiser, and we have 38% of it funded. We can make it. But we need you.
