If you spend any amount of time with me, you will quickly realize I am an extremely emotional person. I hide a lot of it behind a logical exterior, but spend a little bit of time with me and you’ll see the emotion very quickly.
Probably most prominent of the emotions you see is passion.
There are a lot of things that I am passionate about, but most important to me is friendship and mentorship (is the latter even a word? whatever, you know what I mean)
I have a passion to mentor, to teach, & help grow youth. I love sitting and listening to their hearts, their dreams, their passions, and maybe, just maybe, God will give me the blessing of playing a small part in their journey.
I believe that one of the biggest problems with today’s youth is that they don’t have true friends. Don’t believe me? Just friend a couple of youth kids on Facebook and begin to read what they post. They are posts filled with feelings of betrayal, loneliness, and aimlessness. What they are looking for is a true friend, someone who won’t talk bad about them behind their back, someone who will wake up at any hour of the night to talk when they need it, even driving over to sit and talk (or not talk, just sit) if that’s what they need, someone who can help guide them when they feel lost, someone to help them achieve their goals
I believe that because they’ve never had true friends, they don’t know how to be true friends… So if I can teach them to be a true friend to people by the example I set, then I see my passion being lived out. And when you break it down, we are all just trying find our passions and live them out…
