Today, a friend asked on his status what today was… Answers ranged from someone’s birthday, to a video game release day, to 11/11/11, but in over 6 answers, no one said Veteran’s Day… And when someone finally did, there were tons of “likes” on all the other comments, and only one on the Veteran’s Day comment…
This broke my heart. Have we really reached a point in our society that the lining up of a certain string of numbers or a video game is more important to us than those who have put everything on the line for us so that we could enjoy the little things like video games?
So to all the veterans out there who are feeling unappreciated, unwanted, and think that no one knows what you have done, thank you for your service, we all owe you more than we could ever know.

On the battlefield, the military pledges to leave no soldier behind. As a nation, let it be our pledge that when they return home, we leave no veteran behind.
